Built Proper Ltd (company number SC897655) is the data controller for personal data collected through builtproper.com. We are registered in Scotland, with a registered office at 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH2 4AN.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry, request a call or use Billy, we collect the information you provide. This may include your name, email address, phone number, business, selected service, requested time and message. Our systems also record limited security and attribution data such as IP address, browser, referring page and campaign parameters.

If you join the guides list, we store your email address and the date and source of your signup.

Why we use it

We process enquiry data to respond to your request and take steps towards a possible contract. We also have a legitimate interest in keeping an accurate enquiry record, protecting the service from abuse and understanding which channels produce genuine business enquiries. We use consent for the guides list and for optional Google Analytics.

Analytics and storage

Google Analytics does not load and no Google Analytics cookie is set unless you choose “Allow analytics”. If allowed, Google may set cookies beginning _ga. You can change your choice using “Analytics choices” in the footer. Our consent preference and first-touch attribution are stored in your browser.

Processors

We use Netlify for hosting and protected lead storage, Supabase for enquiry records, Postmark for transactional email, Anthropic to answer Billy conversations, Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent form abuse, and—only with consent—Google Analytics. These suppliers may process information outside the UK under their contractual transfer safeguards.

How long we keep it

We normally retain unsuccessful enquiries for no longer than 24 months after the last contact, unless a longer period is required for a contract, legal obligation or dispute. Guide subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Google Analytics event and user data are configured for 14-month retention.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict your personal data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Email hello@builtproper.com. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
